hello everyone! Was searching the net for some soviet uniforms and stumbled across this wild place and figured I'd join up soviet flag

I'm 31 I live in Virginia close to the Tennessee border, love my firearms (AK's of course), hunting, hiking all that outdoors stuff, played paintball for many years even attended Fulda Gap a few years ago but ended up selling all my crap and getting out of paintball and just sticking to shooting. But lately I've had to itch to get back into things but I figured I'd give airsoft a go this time it always appealed to me more but it wasn't as popular before so I had no where to play. So I just ordered my first airsoft rifle yesterday a CYMA 048S basically a AKM underfolder. Now just trying to snag some snazzy Soviet camo in hopes to attend Fulda Gap again this year  AK

so thats my story kinda  wink

Hey thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to getting back into things, I'm sure I'll be rusty haha.

so will actual AK furniture fit on the Cyma Ak's? I started the buy the romanian AK since it's almost identical do my real AK but I was never a fan of the Romanian vertical handguard so I replaced mine, and have a set of polish hand guards with the palm swell that I though would be nice to put on cyma Romanian but wasn't sure if it would be possible or not. So I went with the underfold since I'm in the process of building a polish underfolder.

That great news to hear that Virginia has a good Russian scene, would be nice to eventually link up with a team, especially one in my area. I live on a farm and have around 200 acres that we could practice on. I'll have to try an catch some events going on in here in Va.

since I'm still building my kit can anyone recommend some good options for face protection? I've been looking at the wire mesh half face masks but wasn't sure if I could still get a good view down my iron sights with it or not. Was also looking the neoprene(spelling?) half masks but was reading they still leave welts pretty bad. Also found some M40 helmets pretty cheap so thought I'd snag one of those for head protection since I always seemed to get popped in the top of the head when I played paintball haha.

On the Cyma 048 models only slight modification is needed for real wood parts to fit. i have done this easily. polymer will take more time but is possible. just use a dremel Cheesy

Welcome!  I'm also located I VA and am one of the Section leaders of OSN-RUS, a Russian milsim team located throughout VA.  Unfortunately, we don't really have anyone in your area as most of our members are either in NOVA or Hampton Roads.

Yea things are kinda sleepy in my neck of the woods not much happens around here haha. Maybe I can catch up with you guys at a event in the NOVA area. Do you guys ever make it down to Fulda Gap at Command Decisions? I'm only about 3 hours drive to there. I think Richmond is like 5 hours for me which isn't too bad, I've made longer trips before. I'll be keeping my eye out for some games here in VA so I'll be sure to let you go if I'm able to attend any.

You should check put Virginia Airsoft if you want to play in VA.  The easiest way is to just search them on Facebook.  We have an event coming up this weekend in Charlottesville.  AS for Fulda, I would like to go, but it is at least 6 or 7 hours, which is not quite feasible right now, especially for multiple days during the school year.  While you are at Fulda, you should try to network with Smirnov, another Russian airsofter.  I know he makes the trip every year.

good deal I'll check them out on facebook, man would love to hit the Charlottesville event but just won't be possible. Maybe next I'll be able to make the next game.

I know what you mean on the long drives they are a beast for sure Fulda has been the biggest event I've been to since most was too far for me to drive. Had a blast down there, I'll try getting to know Smirnov would be nice to actually play with some people I knew, last time I went I just went down by myself and played with the walk-ons.
