Heloo comrades, I was fondling my 1P29 the other day and googled random things regarding the optic when I stumbled upon this

 http://aa-ok.com/scope-mount-for-1p29-scope-soviet.html

does that mean the mount and 1P29 was originally intended to be used on specially tuned AK74s? Assuming that the mount was made during the time where side mounts wasn't widespread the 1P29 was made to replace makeshift PGO-1 optics used on AKs? Does this also point out the 1P29 was originally made in Soviet era?

I wouldn't take AA-OK word on anything... I doubt it's intended for 1P29.. It even is doubtfull that the rail is meant for Ak's tbh..

1P29 is from the 90s afaik.. And by then they had officially introduced the Ak-74M which came with a siderail on it standard..

Hm, I find it a bit funnt why aa-ok would name it a 1p29(?) mount out of all mounts, not to mention the optic is less well known amongst western communities

They make a 1p29 that mounts to a Heavy weapon via plate. That version has no side rail bracket and mounts via screw downs.  only seen one in the last decade. has a special cam as well.
